As Geshtar made his way along the wooded path on his black mare he
heard only the hooting of the owl. He sensed danger coming due to the
silence of the birds and the volume of the rushing river. He pulled
back his sleek black hair and threw on his cloak as he led the horse
to higher ground. He saw a cave; the opening was about seven feet
high and ten feet wide. He walked in and lit a match. When he saw
bones in the corner, he grabbed hold of his poison-tipped dagger and
backed out. Searching the surrounding area he saw nothing. He heard
a shriek and looked up. A giant dragon was gliding down. Leaving the
horse outside, he backed into the cave and drew the dagger once more.
As the dragon landed, Geshtar's plan succeeded: the dragon's attention
was directed at the horse. He made his move. Jumping on the dragon,
he thrust the knife up under its scales, killing it. He brought the
horse to the cave's edge and peered in, letting his eyes adjust. Only
now did he realize the bones were not of animals but of humans...
Welcome to this story; as of now it is untitled, but
I'm working on Matt to give me a name for it. Each chapter will be
linked to the next or accessible from the Story Menu
Now that that's over with, here's the story:
A wanderer in a strange land...
Ooooh, intrigued yet? I am (I'm reading it as I type it in).
